We all have that one book we picked up with zero expectations... and then bam! it stayed with us for weeks.

📚 Maybe it was a genre you never read.
🤯 Or a plot twist that left you speechless.
💡 Or a character who felt too real.

Let’s talk about books that caught us off guard (in the best way possible). I’ll go first in the comments 👇

For me, it was Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine. I honestly thought it would be a light read, but it ended up breaking my heart and stitching it back together. Eleanor’s inner world, her awkwardness, her pain, and healing — everything felt so raw and real. Did not see that emotional depth coming at all.

The Hen Who Dreamed She Could Fly by Sun-mi Hwang. Picked it up thinking it was a simple fable... ended up sobbing on my balcony at 1 AM. 😭 Did not expect a story about a hen to hit me with themes of freedom, motherhood, and identity so deeply. Still think about Sprout when I need a little courage. HIGHLY recommend if you're in the mood for something unexpectedly profound.

Interesting topic! For me it'd be 'Let me eat your pancreas'. I understand mangas have weird titles and themes and a crazy storyline, but I had not expected to discover such a sweet love story in this book (plus I dived in blind after seeing a few 5* reviews). Wholesome!
